Monsoon Snacks – 14 | Baby Corn Pakodas

Pakodas are the most delicious and tastiest snacks during monsoon rain. Try this hot and crunchy pakodas with a cup of tea.

Ingredients:

  • baby corn – 250 gm
  • Oil, to deep fry
    For the batter:
  • corn flour – 3 Tbsp
  •  besan – 3 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  •  red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  •  turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  •  coriander powder – 1 tsp
  •  chilled soda – 50 ml
    For the masala paste:
  •  ginger-garlic paste – 2 Tbsp
  • Salt, to taste
  • red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  •  turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  •  coriander powder – 1 tsp
  •  cumin powder – 1 tsp
  •  refined oil – 1 Tbsp

Procedure:

Blanching the corn:

  1. Taker a pan and boil water and add salt. Now, add 250 grams of baby corn into it.
  2. Blanch it for 3 minutes.
  3. Then strain away the hot water. Put baby corns into cold water for sometime.
    For the batter:
  4. Mix all the ingredients of the batter and together leave it for 10 – 15 minutes.
    For the masala:
  5. Now, mix the paste on the blanched baby corn. Keep them in the fridge and marrinate for 15 minutes.
    Main preparation:
  6. In a deep pan heat up the oil to deep fry the pakodas.
  7. Now, coat the masala paste to the baby corn with the batter and deep fry them in a oil.
